The University of Chester International Admission Director for the USA, Katy Davenport, the UDA Academy Director from England, Joel Roberts and USA based staff, along with students from around the country attended the UDA event this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
Our photo blog tells the story of our event in Columbus Ohio that opened up our recruitment for the class of 2019.
Registration on the Friday afternoon saw a large group of prospects and families prepare for the introductory meeting. In line with the UDA soccer philosophy Coach Reilly starts building a "family" that begins at the Prospect Event.
UDA at the University of Chester our focus is, ‘everyone matters’, ‘everyone cares’ as we aim to add real value to the students academic and soccer experience.
Training sessions focused on technical, functional and 11 v 11 games on Sunday to see prospects in a variety are formats. Prospects from Maryland, St Louis, California and point in between attended the event showing the countrywide attraction of the program.
The troops were fed!
The event involved a presentation on the total program from all staff that cover the professional soccer academy, university life and academic work at Chester as well as social and cultural life within the university. Students were served dinner prior to the presentation as they connected with other players and got to know staff.
UDA based staff, Director Jeff Thompson and University of Chester International Admissions Director, Katy Davenport prior to the presentation.
The presentation started at 6.00pm with dinner and concluded with staff and coaches meeting individual families until 10.30pm in the evening- giving families individual attention and details of the academic and soccer programs.
Sunday morning concluded with an 11 v 11 inters-quad game giving the staff an opportunity to evaluate prospects within the context of the game. A great turn out from the UK and USA based staff to meet students and families over the course of the weekend.
