Program Director, Roberts, Outlines New and Exciting Plans For The Upcoming Year

With the increase in the playing roster at UDA this coming year UDA's Soccer Program Director Joel Roberts, has outlined how the increased numbers has lead to several new and exciting changes within the UDA-UK program at the University of Chester. The changes will widen and broaden the student experience both within the UDA program and life at the University of Chester.

New changes include; The addition of Richard Donnelly to the coaching staff whose experiences include working for Manchester United’s Pre Academy program, the extension of the games schedule with the addition of playing in two leagues, the North West u21 League and the BUCS League, opportunity for students to pursue their FA coaching qualifications for those seeking coaching careers and outreach to local clubs who may be interested in some of the UDA players being added to their rosters.

Program Director, Roberts outlines the program at the Columbus, Ohio recruitment event to prospects and their families.

In addition to the wider games schedule through league play, UDA has provided more support hours through staff and the location of a UDA office on the campus at the University of Chester. This initiative will allow for a full integration for students into the life of Chester as well as offering a wider range of mentoring support for students across the academic, social, cultural and living adjustments needed when studying abroad.

Head of Student Support, Gaynor Crompton outlines her role at the UDA UK academy to students and families at the Columbus Orientation for incoming students.

Head of Coaching at the UDA UK soccer academy, Coach McCarthy, developed a preseason training program for students.

A pre season coaching program was established for players prior to their arrival from the Head of Coaching, Coach McCarthy a former Northern Ireland International and Football League player and current Assistant Manager in the National League North. The training program is intended to get the players ready from day one for a full season of training and playing that starts Sept and ends late May.

UDA is also excited to announce a new opportunity for students to take advantage of the proximity to Europe with a spring trip to Barcelona giving opportunity for players to train and play with some top Spanish coaches.
