Program Director, Coach Roberts Outlines The Return To Campus Plans
Via Team App video, Coach Roberts indicated the UDA plan for students returning to campus this fall. With the announcement from the UK government that teams at the amatuer level can return to train and play, this signalled the green light for UDA to commence a September 14th return to training for second and third year students, within government guidelines. All students returning to the UK from the USA will require a two week quarantine period upon arrival.
First year students will arrive on campus for UOC orientation in late September, and then will join the UDA team in their training and game schedules. UDA’s student support officer, Gaynor Crompton, has held zoom meetings with all incoming students given that the in-person US orientation was cancelled in July. Induction packets were distributed to UDA students in preparation for their arrival into the UDA program and to ensure a smooth transition into the UDA at UOC academy.
In his video, Coach Roberts announced the exciting news that UDA will now compete in the u21 North West league with two teams, one in the East and one in the West division. After a very successful campaign for the UDA team in the 2019-20 season, they have now been able to add an additional team into the league. The planned schedule against regional teams will also continue as in past years - offering students a varied and competitive schedule of games throughout the year.
